GENERAL BAPTIST MEN IN MISSIONS REPORT
ACTING DIRECTOR: BRO. BILLY G. SELF
In reporting to the General Association, we thank God for the ministry of General Baptist men. With the limited amount of financial report we’ve received, God has opened doors to give this ministry opportunities to minister and helping those devastated by natural disasters, the elderly, churches of our denomination, which were in need of a skilled work force, to help rebuild or help wherever need. The largest majority of Men in Missions support volunteers are of retirement age, using all levels of their master skills. We, as Men in Missions, must never turn down someone in need and must always answer a cry for help from anyone and reach out to all in Christian love through service, 1 John 3:16-19.
The Men in Missions board is still seeking a director to lead this ministry. I really believe God has someone in mind for this position, all we have to do is be in fervent prayer that the person will respond to this call and step up and accept the position. This ministry has survived many years with very little physical and financial support. We know that if Men in Missions keep following this path that the denomination of General Baptist churches may even face its demise in the near future. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to establish a, Men in Missions or Brotherhood group in your church, in doing so, Christ will Bless us with our faithfulness in service.
The Men in Missions has purchased a closed in trailer and we are in need of an assortment of tools as well as two axel flatbed trailer for hauling supplies for construction or demo debris. We are hoping to start other brotherhood groups with ten or more churches working together across the country and overseas in the near future. Any assistance in making this happen will be greatly appreciated. Those of you who support this very needed ministry in our denomination; I pray that God will continually bless all you do to advance the Kingdom until our Lord returns.
Nominations for board members will be approved at our Men’s Gathering being held at South Friendship General Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana on June 27, 2009. Please continue to pray for the ministry and that God will have His way for all we do in His Glory. Remember, we still need a direction and one more board member.
